A Chapter 13 bankruptcy is sometimes referred to as a wage earner's plan. Unlike a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, which liquidates assets and discharges debts, a Chapter 13 bankruptcy results in a payment plan ordered by a bankruptcy court judge.
