Familiarity with the Local Courts

We are very familiar with the United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California, Northern Division, which is located on State Street in Santa Barbara. Other courts that may be utilized are located in Los Angeles, or in Woodland Hills, near the Ventura / Los Angeles County border. Much of the paperwork can be filed electronically, saving time and effort.

Fees

Our law office tries to keep tabs on the amounts usually charged by attorneys for representing a debtor in bankruptcy, we aim to make our fees affordable and reasonable. As with most lawyers, the amount of the fee does not include the filing fee payable to the Bankruptcy Court. The filing fee is presently in the amount of $299.

Electronic Handling of Drafts and Filings

Much of the paperwork regarding preparation of the petition and filing the petition and other papers with the court may be done electronically. We routinely communicate with clients by e-mail and file attachments.
